Drug Checking Los Angeles is offering a free, mail-based alternative as an option for individuals who may be unable to visit one of our in-person drug checking sites in Los Angeles.

Request your mail-based kits
Fill out the form below to request your kits. Once you complete the request form, we will mail you a kit with a combination of test strips and supplies to take samples for the lab.
Use the test strips and swab your samples
Included in the survey are instructions for how to collect a residue swab for laboratory-based analysis. You’ll take a swab, fill out the envelope, and tape it closed. The swab needs to come in contact with the sample, but should not have visible residue.
Test strips can help you get important and accurcate safety information in the moment while you wait for the lab to analyze your samples.

Once you request your mail-based kits, we have an brief questionnaire that is an important way for us to collect information about drug sample expectations and experiences, as well as the only way for us to connect lab results back to your sample.
Mail them to the lab and check back In a few weeks
Once you swab your sample, place the taped collection envelope into an mail envelope or box. You’ll then seal and mail it directly to the lab.

The lab cannot test plants, mushrooms, paper and gel blotter, or food products
It may take 1-2 weeks for the mail-based kits to arrive
